When the Quaker City Flea Market opened its doors in early 1974, success was immediate. Customer traffic and vendor response was overwhelming. So, in late 1974, the Quaker City Flea Market expanded to include outdoor vendor operations as well.
Over the years, ownership had changed a handful of times, and in June, 2011, new management took over the operation. The change in management brought many changes that have garnered much praise from vendors and customers alike. The bathrooms were cleaned up and brightened. Outdoor signage and lighting was installed. The entire facility was cleaned and maintained. Vendor and customer relations were raised to a much higher standard. The long running and thriving flea market was reinvigorated, assuring many more decades of success.
Many of today's vendors have been with the flea market since or near its inception. At any given time, throughout the year, it is estimated that over 125 vendors sell their wares at the site, with approximately 55 of them inside the building, which is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter.
